Shoppers in Wakefield can win cash while collecting essentials today

Jack’s Supermarket, on Ings Road, is giving away vouchers to customers this Blue Monday, January 18, to help lift the January blues.

Blue Monday marks the third Monday in January which is thought to be the ‘bluest’ day of the year.

Whilst collecting their essentials, Wakefield residents will be randomly selected to win a Jack’s monetary voucher, ready to spend on their next essential shop.

Michael Ward, Store Manager at Jack’s Wakefield, said: “We hope the vouchers we’ll be handing out will put a smile on the faces of our customers this Blue Monday. It’s very tough at the moment for everyone so we wanted to offer a little joy to our regular customers and hopefully ease those January blues.’

Jack’s supermarket has put a number of additional safety measures in place to keep customers and colleagues safe during this time.

These include social distancing, wider aisles, regular cleaning and hand sanitiser available on entrance and exit. Masks are also mandatory (unless exempt for medical reasons) and customers are asked to shop alone wherever possible.

Jack’s Supermarket is located at Unit 1B, Westgate Retail Park, Ings Rd, Wakefield WF2 9SD and will be open from 8am-8pm on Monday, January 18.
