Castleford Academy to reopen to all pupils after unexpected power cut
Castleford Academy will reopen to all pupils tomorrow, it has been confirmed.
The school, on Ferrybridge Road, Castleford, was closed today (Monday, March 2) after an unexpected power cut.
In a text sent to parents, the school said: "Unfortunately, due to a power outage, there is currently no electricity at Castleford Academy. As a result, we are closed to pupils today. A text will come out later today with any updates."
However, power has since been restored and the school will reopen to all pupils tomorrow.
Almost 1,400 students are enrolled at the school.
In a statement, the Academy said: "Castleford Academy is open as normal on Tuesday 3rd March. Northern Powergrid restored the electric supply to the school this morning and fixed the underlying issue this afternoon. Thank you for your support."
