Lorraine Wilby was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma in January 2018 when she was referred to hospital with a suspected cataract, but on January 22 she had her left eye removed due to the rare condition.

The 56-year-old now needs life prolonging treatment after the cancer spread to her liver and can not receive the treatment through the NHS.

The life prolonging treatment called Chemosaturation can be undertaken privately but she needs to raise £120,000.

It is required to have a minimum of three treatments every eight weeks but cost £40,000 each so Lorraine needs help.

"I am just a woman from Wakefield I don't know anyone with that sort of money." Lorraine said.

"My daughter is getting married in October and I need to be here to walk her down the aisle.

"The treatment means more life, it is not a cure but it will extend my life and hopefully they do find a cure during these years and I can get my life back."

The fundraiser was launched after the family received the devastating news and has already nearly reached £10,000 but more is needed to help.

Lorraine said: "I know times are tough with Christmas just been, people losing their jobs and lockdowns but people are still helping by donating and it's huge so thank you."
