Castleford man is walking 500-miles to raise funds for 'adorable' Noah

David, from Castleford, is using his isolation time to help raise funds for 12-year-old Noah Woolford.

"I will walk 500 miles", that is the distance, made famous in The Proclaimers song, David Law says he will walk to help a boy living with cerebral palsy .

And he has already set up a just giving page, and was hoping to raise £500 by walking 500 miles to buy specialist therapy and equipment for Noah and his family.

But that target has been broken and he has raised over £1,000.

David said: “Noah is the gorgeous son of my wife’s cousin Jean.

“Although a debilitating condition that restricts Noah to a wheelchair most of the time, he is one of the happiest and inspiring people you could ever wish to meet.

“I plan to continue to go out every day through the lockdown and beyond to reach the 500

miles, or maybe even more, to try to raise important funds to continue to help keep Noah

healthy, happy and in our hearts for years to come.”

Noah lives with his mum, Jean Woolford, who says she is grateful for David’s fundraising efforts and to those who have donated.

Jean said: “David was on a walk and he passed my house and we had a catch up at a distance.

“He later rang me and told me he’d like to walk to raise money for Noah, which is amazing because as a single parent, I wouldn’t be able to afford the resources for Noah to maintain his range of movement.

“It’s really great of him to help us out like this, but David is so lovely so it comes as no surprise.

“Noah is the most adorable little boy, everyone that meets him falls in love with him and I’m so proud to be his mum.

“We all want the best for Noah, I want him to achieve, be happy and reach his full potential and people support us in this way means the world

“I’d just like to say a massive thank you to David for thinking of doing this for us, and thanks to anyone who's donated, it all goes towards Noah's care, therapy and specialist equipment.”
