Charges will not apply in any local car parks run by Wakefield Council until June 15.
The council scrapped fees at the start of lockdown in a bid to help key workers and ease pressure on public transport.

Council leader Denise Jeffery said: "We understand that some people are now being asked to return to work and we want to support our residents to do that in any way we can, as well as continuing to help our key workers.
“Many people will have concerns about returning to work and we’d like to ensure that parking fees are one less thing to worry about.
“Extending our offer of free parking until 15 June will also help reduce reliance on public transport and support people to follow social distancing guidance.”
