As Delta cases continue to rise and surge testing continues in Wakefield, these are the latest Covid case rates for every area of the Five Towns.

Almost 800 cases of the Delta variant have been confirmed in the district in recent weeks, and NHS Test and Trace are now conducting surge testing in certain areas. These are the latest Covid-19 case rates for every area of Pontefract, Castleford, Normanton, South Elmsall and more, according to Public Health England. You can view the figures for Wakefield here.

Please note: All figures are accurate for the seven days up to Tuesday, June 22. Data is provided for each of Wakefield's MSOAs, which may not always align with local authority wards.

In Ackworth & Darrington, 12 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 107.3 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 200% from the previous week.

In Airedale, 14 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 175.6 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 250% from the previous week.
In Altofts, four new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 67.9 per 100,000 people. This was a fall of 60% from the previous week.
In Castleford Town, 16 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 189.3 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 45.5% from the previous week.
In Castleford West, 11 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 117.7 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 57.1% from the previous week.
In Featherstone, 10 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 115 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 150% from the previous week.
In Ferry Fryston, 10 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 126.7 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 57.1% from the previous week.
In Ferrybridge & West Knottingley, 12 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 148.9 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 500% from the previous week.
In Glasshoughton, five new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 68.5 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 25% from the previous week.
In Hemsworth Town, 17 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 202.9 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 240% from the previous week.
In Kinsley & Fitzwilliam, 12 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 186.6 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 500% from the previous week.
In Knottingley, five new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 79.7 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 66.7% from the previous week.
In Moorthorpe, six new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 103.5 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 100% from the previous week.
In Normanton East, 15 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 204.4 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 66.7% from the previous week.
In Normanton West, 17 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 173.7 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 88.9% from the previous week.
In Pontefract North East, 18 new cases were confirmed, bringing the rate of infection to 195.8 per 100,000 people. This was a rise of 63.6% from the previous week.
