Coun Faith Heptinstall, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for adults, health and wellbeing, said: “We’re pleased that residents can now access the local test and trace programme, making it even easier and faster to get tested.

“By taking a test people can help keep themselves, and those close to them, safe.

“If you test positive it is vitally important that you self-isolate, following public health guidelines and crucially this will protect your local community.”

The local testing service is available from Monday to Friday and bookings for appointments can be made at www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 01924 224497.
