Join I'm A Celebrity's Shane Richie in The Prince of Wales Hospice Festive Celebrity Quiz - and win £500
The Prince of Wales Hospice is hosting an online festive celebrity quiz next week where one person will win £500.
The live quiz will feature celebrities including ‘I’m A Celebrity’ star Shane Richie, Castleford Tigers rugby players Nathan Massey and Grant Millington, ITV Calendar presenters Christine Talbot, Duncan Wood and Gaynor Barnes, and Colson Smith who plays Craig Tinker in ITV soap Coronation Street.
Total Lubricants in Ferrybridge, a long-standing supporter of The Prince of Wales Hospice, is sponsoring the quiz and has donated £500 to be won in the free prize draw.
Everyone who takes part in the quiz will be entered into the free prize draw. They can also enter by uploading a festive selfie with the hashtag #TheFestiveCelebrityQuiz and tagging The Prince of Wales Hospice’s Twitter handle, @pwhospice.
There will be six rounds of general knowledge questions and one festive-themed round.
Rebecca Taylor, community and partnerships fundraiser at The Prince of Wales Hospice, said: “The Coronavirus pandemic has put a stop to most of our planned fundraising events this year but we must continue to raise money so we are looking forward to hosting our second virtual quiz.
"We are so grateful to our stellar line-up of celebrities who are giving up their time to put on an entertaining evening and we hope as many people as possible will be able to take part and join in the fun.”
John Ryder, general manager of Total Lubricants’ UK Blending Plant at Ferrybridge, said: “We are proud to be a long-standing supporter of The Prince of Wales Hospice which plays such an important role in our community by caring for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
"In what has been a challenging year for everyone, not least charities because of the restrictions on fundraising activities, we are pleased to support our friends at the Hospice by sponsoring this quiz.”
ITV Calendar presenter Gaynor Barnes said: “As we know, the Hospice doesn’t just care for patients with cancer, it also cares for patients with life-limiting illnesses, so it’s wonderful to be able to support it again, particularly at Christmastime.
"And we all know, the Coronavirus crisis has affected everybody’s lives this year, but perhaps one good thing to come out of it is the online quizzes we can take part in and enjoy with families and friends while raising much-needed funds for a special charity.”
The Prince of Wales Hospice has been providing care to people with life-limiting illnesses including cancer, motor neurone disease and chronic heart and lung disease since 1989.
"The Hospice has to raise over £3m a year through its shops, fundraising events and donations. Of every £1 the Hospice raises, 86p is spent directly on patient care and 14p is invested in raising more funds.
The Festive Celebrity Quiz will be held on Thursday, December 17 at 7pm.
