John Ryder, general manager of Total Lubricants’ UK Blending Plant at Ferrybridge, said: “We are proud to be a long-standing supporter of The Prince of Wales Hospice which plays such an important role in our community by caring for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.

"In what has been a challenging year for everyone, not least charities because of the restrictions on fundraising activities, we are pleased to support our friends at the Hospice by sponsoring this quiz.”

ITV Calendar presenter Gaynor Barnes said: “As we know, the Hospice doesn’t just care for patients with cancer, it also cares for patients with life-limiting illnesses, so it’s wonderful to be able to support it again, particularly at Christmastime.

"And we all know, the Coronavirus crisis has affected everybody’s lives this year, but perhaps one good thing to come out of it is the online quizzes we can take part in and enjoy with families and friends while raising much-needed funds for a special charity.”

"The Hospice has to raise over £3m a year through its shops, fundraising events and donations. Of every £1 the Hospice raises, 86p is spent directly on patient care and 14p is invested in raising more funds.
