21. November: Jane McDonald announces headline tour
The singer, who was born and raised in Wakefield, will embark on the With All My Love Tour in 2024, with 24 dates planned across the UK. The star will perform some of her greatest hits alongside new material for fans with tickets on sale now. Photo: Getty Images
22. December: Farmer Copleys turns 20
The popular farm shop and attraction turned 20 on Tuesday, December 12 and marked the anniversary with an evening of music, drinks and cake. Farmer Copleys was set up in 2003 by Robert and Heather Copley as a small farm shop with a butchery counter. The Pontefract business has since expanded with a larger shop, its Moo Cafe, events space and private dining area - and has become one of the most popular farm shops in the UK. Photo: Scott Merrylees
23. December: Christmas in Wakefield
The district embraced the festive season with Chrsitmas markets and events taking place across Wakefield and the Five Towns. Nostell Priory was decorated with a magical fairytale theme with rooms featuring elements from stories such as Rapunzel, Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast.
