Accident closes M62 motorway in both directions
A multi-vehicle accident has closed the M62 between junctions 30 and 31 eastbound, and junctions 32 and 31 westbound.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash involving two HGVs, a car and a transit van, at 5.20am.
One of the HGVs collided with the central reservation.
Police officers remain at the scene and say drivers should expect significant disruption into the morning rush hour, as the vehicles are recovered and a large oil spill dealt with.
