Affray charges and criminal damage arrests in Agbrigg

Police have charged two men with affray after a street brawl in Agbrigg.

One of the men has also been charged with grievous bodily harm following the incident on Trinity Street on Wednesday, May 8.

They will both appear before Leeds Crown Court on Monday.

Insp Richard Claire, of the Rural neighbourhood police team (NPT) said: “Two males have been charged with affray in relation to the incident on Trinity Street, one of which has also been charged with a section 18 GBH assault.”

Police have also arrested two men on suspicion of criminal damage after a window was smashed at the mosque on Agbrigg Road.

Another man and a woman have also been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit criminal damage.

Police from the Rural neighbourhood police team (NPT) are continuing to investigate both the brawl and the damage at the mosque.
