Another arrest has been made after four friends were killed in a tragic quad bike crash while celebrating the youngest victim’s 16th birthday.

Terrie Kirby died along with her three friends, Ryan Beal and Brandon Brown, both 20, and Alexandra Binns, 18, when their quad bike was hit from behind by a Nissan 350Z sports car.

The incident happened on the A6201 between Upton and Hemsworth at around 12.30am on Sunday, September 27.

Three of the people died at the scene while one of the men died in hospital from his injuries.

A 19-year-old man from Barnsley was arrested last night on suspicion of dangerous driving and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. He is currently in custody for questioning.

Seven men arrested earlier yesterday have now been bailed pending continuing enquiries.
