Appeal to trace late wife's jewellery stolen in burglary

Police are appealing for information after property including jewellery was stolen in a burglary earlier this month.

The jewellery, which belonged to the victim’s late wife, was taken along with other property when thieves targeted a house on Half Penny Lane, Pontefract, on Friday March 25.

The jewellery included three rings which are of sentimental value.

Detective Inspector Tim Hunt, of Wakefield CID, said: “The rings were of sentimental value to the victim. Two of the rings, described as a 22ct gold wedding band and an 18ct gold solitaire engagement ring are irreplaceable. I would like to hear from anyone who has any information that could assist with our investigation.”
