The teams were split between England and France and had to buy a list of items, including 100 snails, 30kg of manure and a boat.

The girls team, including Miss Dean from Altofts, spent £398.44 but were fined for not buying mussels, a Louis Philippe mirror. The boys won the task having spent the least amount of cash.

Lord Sugar told the girls team: “You had the whole of overnight and all that time to think about where you were going and what you were doing. Not organised.”

Candidate Jenny Garbis was fired after being criticised for failing to contribute to the task.
