Baby-changing rooms at Wakefield shopping centre are praised

The centre has won silver in the Sudocrem Changing Room Award for the Best Baby Changing Room in the UK, as voted for by members of the public.

The Ridings Centre won the silver award because they have created a thoughtfully-designed and well-decorated area for parents to change their babies and have even included a play area.

Lee Appleton, Centre Director, said: “We wanted parents with babies to feel welcome and comfortable when they use our baby changing rooms.

"We have carefully created a space which caters for the whole family, from quiet and private spaces for breastfeeding to bottle warmers and a play area."

"We hope these awards will encourage businesses everywhere to provide excellent facilities,” said a spokesperson from the awards.
