A better education

THE quality of education at Kinsley Primary School has significantly improved according to a recent inspection report.

Officers from Ofsted judged the school to be satisfactory with numerous good aspects, including its capacity for sustained improvement, pupils’ behaviour and the extent in which healthy lifestyles are adopted. The effectiveness of care, guidance and support, the quality of teaching, engagement with parents and carers and the effectiveness of safeguarding procedures were also rated good.

Inspector Steven Hill said: “The school’s effectiveness is satisfactory. It has made great improvements in the quality of education since the current headteacher took up post. In particular, teaching is now good throughout the school and, as a result, pupils are making good progress.

Relationships with parents and carers, a weakness at the last inspection, are now good.

“Pupils are making up a lot of the ground that was lost after the last inspection.”

Headteacher Paul Birdsall said: “We are delighted. We are proud of the recognition of the way we have moved forward in the last 18 months. It just shows all the work that staff, children and parents have put in has really paid off. Our children are getting a really good education.”
