Big screen event comes to Ossett

SCREENINGS: Big Screen Ossett will take place in the precinct on Saturday, July 28.

Big Screen Saturday will show five full-length feature films in the precinct. The free event, organised by Ossett Town Centre Partnership, will start with Peter Rabbit at 10.30am. Paddington 2 will follow at 12.30pm and Top Gun at 2.30pm. The final two films will be Singalong Hairspray at 4.30pm and Singalong - The Greatest Showman at 7pm. All showing times are approximate.

A spokeswoman said: “Previous years have been an amazing success, so why not come along to our third year and see what great fun the day is?”

The organisers will provide 200 chairs, but do bring your own chairs, picnic tables, rugs. Other attractions include donkeys in Station Road, fairground rides and food and drink stalls in the precinct and a craft fair in the town hall. Ossett Town Centre partnership will also stage its fifth World War One commemorative football match at Ossett United on Prospect Road on Thursday, August 2. An Ossett Youth under 18 team will face an under 18 team from the Army Apprentices College, Harrogate. Kick off is at 7.15pm and entry will be £1.
