A bird’s eye view of Wakefield
A camera has been placed inside the peregrines’ nest box on Wakefield Cathedral.
The nest box camera and a digital video recorder in the bell-ringers’ room were installed over two-days this week.
Last spring a pair of peregrines raised three young on the city’s landmark building.
Now we will be able to take a better look at them via the Wakefield Peregrines You Tube channel and @WfldPeregrines on Twitter.
Here is a slide show of some of the images from the project.
Thanks to Francis Hickenbottom, of Wakefield Naturalists, and Julie Knowles for the images.
See tomorrow’s Wakefield Express for the whole story. It is on sale one day earlier than usual on New Year’s Eve.
