The city’s skies will be lit up on Saturday night as Guy Fawkes celebrations take place in Thornes Park.
The annual bonfire and fireworks display will still go ahead despite fire crews going out on strike.
Coun Les Shaw, cabinet member for culture, tourism and sport, said: “I’m sure the display will be impressive and that everyone will have a great time.”
The event starts at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the firework display will start at 8pm.
There is also a competition for the best Guy Fawkes and entries will be judged at 7.30pm.
There will be no parking available inside the park.
