Burglars stole cash from the homes of two elderly people after asking them for a drink.
A property on Agbrigg Road, Wakefield and another on Station Road, Ryhill were both targeted on Sunday, September 6.
Both break-ins happened between noon and 3.30pm and detectives say the incidents could be linked.
Det Insp Dave Rogerson, of Wakefield CID, said: “In both of these incidents the suspects have asked elderly people for a cup of tea or a drink of water and then stolen cash.
“We would like to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious on the afternoon of Sunday, September 6.”
