BUS fares are set to increase in the New Year.
Arriva announced today that the changes will take effect from Sunday, January 13.
Not all fares will be affected and a spokesman said single fares will increase by a maximum of 10p. The price of weekly and four-weekly Yorkshire zone multi-journey tickets will be frozen.
Nigel Featham, managing director for Arriva Yorkshire, said: “We are committed to providing value for money fares and high service standards. Due to current economic pressures and in order to maintain our current service levels we need to increase a number of fares this January.”
A further 10 per cent discount will be available on four-weekly tickets if bought online at www.arrivabus.co.uk.
