Bus services to be scrapped in review

BUS services will be scrapped as part of a review being undertaken by transport authority Metro.

An evening service between Wakefield and Royston, number 59, is to be withdrawn due to low use.

And the 443 service between Wakefield and Woolley will no longer run on evenings and Sundays.

Other services could run less often when the changes are implemented in April next year.

People can make comments on the proposed changes until Metro’s online consultation closes on Friday, October 7.

They can also give their views at a consultation drop-in event at Wakefield Bus Station on Thursday, September 22, between 10am and 7pm.

For more information on changes to services and to make comments online, visit www.wymetro.com/consultation/busreview/

The results of the consultation will be made on the site at the beginning of next year.
