Nathan Garbutt, chairman and parliamentary candidate for UKIP Normanton, Pontefract and Castleford, said: “I am supporting Councillor Lisa Duffy, Lisa was previously party director and I have known her for many years.

“Can I offer my best wishes to all the leadership candidates, on their shoulders will now rest the responsibility of bringing UKIP together and demonstrating what the party has to offer to the British electorate.”

Dianne James MEP and Elizabeth Jones are also standing in the leadership election.

UKIP said around 80 members attended the hustings.
