A cannabis farm has been put out of business in Darnley this morning (Tuesday).

Officers from the Wakefield central neighbourhood police team found a ‘substantial’ amount of the class B drug at the house on Henry Street at around 8am.

The raid was carried out after officers received information from the public. Enquiries are now ongoing to find the residents of the house.

Acting Sergeant Daniel Stoppard said: “This is yet another example of Wakefield Central NPT listening to the community and acting on the information. I am fed up of people who think it is acceptable to ruin communities with their drug dealing. My team will target those responsible and with the public assistance we can improve our communities.”

Anyone with information about drug crime should call the NPT on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
