A care home worker has been cleared of assaulting a 101-year-old patient.

Sharon-Elaine Parkinson, 44, was accused of grabbing dementia sufferer Rose Trigg’s arm, causing extensive bruising, while putting her to bed at the Ashgrove House Care Home in Sandal last June.

But today (Thursday) the mum-of-two was found not guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following a three-day trial at Leeds Crown Court.

Afterwards Mrs Parkinson, of Heseltine Close, Normanton, wished to thank all the people who had supported her over the last six months.
