The cheesemongers, fresh from their work at the 2016 Tour de Yorkshire and two events at the British Embassy in Paris in 2014, are setting off to Spain next week.

A delegation from the Allerton Bywater firm are off to the gourmet mecca of San Sebastian as part of an official government trade mission to promote local cheese.

Cryer & Stott and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) are working together to deliver ‘The North’s Big Cheese Project’. The trip aims to showcase a diverse selection of artisan English cheese.

The cheeses, which include products from several Yorkshire companies, will be presented to some of the country’s top Michelin starred chefs and a number of food specialists. The aim is to increase business opportunities for the region on a global scale.

Cryer & Stott managing director Richard Holmes said: “It’s always a great pleasure to promote brand Yorkshire abroad and hopefully this trip will not only promote the fantastic cheeses that are produced in this part of the world, but will also add value to other business sectors too.”
