Changes to bus services for Wakefield, Pontefract and Castleford

Arriva say the changes, which will start on either Saturday July 23 or Monday July 25 are:

*128/130 – Dewsbury – Thornhill – Grange Moor – Wakefield – from July 23:

To improve the reliability of these services some minor changes will be made to the timetable. A new weekday journey will be introduced from Wakefield at 0740, arriving in Dewsbury at 08:50. This trip replaces the current 08:21 from Grange Moor to Dewsbury and will now leave Grange Moor at 08:16.

*163/166 – Leeds – Cross Gates – Garforth – Kippax – Castleford – from July 25:

Some minor changes will be made to the timetable of these services to improve reliability and punctuality. Extra time will be allowed between Garforth and Leeds due to congestion caused by roadworks on York Road.

*167/168 – Leeds – Woodlesford – Allerton Bywater – Castleford – from July 25:

Some minor changes will be made to the timetable of these services on Monday to Saturday daytimes.

*184 – Castleford – Airedale – Pontefract – from July 25:

Changes will be made to this service, with buses now leaving Pontefract at 20 minutes past the hour and Castleford at 47 minutes past the hour in the middle of the day. The school holiday only trips at 15:37 from Castleford and 15:05 from Pontefract will be withdrawn.

*189 – Leeds to Wakefield and 410 – Leeds to Chequerfield – from July 25:

Some minor adjustments will be made to the timetable to further improve punctuality.

*212 – Dewsbury – Batley – Flanshaw – Wakefield – from July 23:

To improve the reliability of these services some minor changes will be made to the timetable of these services in peak periods.

*217 – Leeds – Shaw Cross – Ossett – Overton – from July 25:

The 16.45 Monday to Friday service from Leeds will run 10 minutes later to better cater for commuter demands and help improve reliability.

*420 – Doncaster – Burghwallis – Norton – Criddling Stubbs – Knottingley – Pontefract – from July 25:

Due to changes in local authority funding, this service will be withdrawn.

Alternative journeys between Doncaster and Askern/Norton can be made on services 405, 407, 408, 409, 412 or X45. Services 408 and 409 continue to provide an hourly daytime service between Doncaster and Pontefract.

Alternative journeys between Pontefract and Knottingley can be made on service 145, 148 and 149.

*443 – Hall Green – Crigglestone – Durkar – Thornes – Wakefield – from July 25:

Some minor changes will be made to weekday timetable of this service to improve punctuality.

*444 – Leeds – Rothwell – Wakefield – Asda – Hall Green – from July 25:
