Hundreds of children will sing their hearts out for charity next month.

Pupils from six schools will perform two especially written songs during half time when the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats play the Widnes Vikings at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on Monday, July 8.

Wildcats pastor Jonathan Robinson hopes the Sing Your Heart Out event will raise £10,000 for Heart Research UK.

Singers are being encouraged to raise £25 each in sponsorship, and £1 from every match ticket sold will go towards the cause as well.

Mr Robinson said; “It’s going to be fantastic. The songs are very catchy and it will be amazing to hear them on the night. We’re really hoping that as many people as possible come along to support the event.”

The Wildcats will wear special shirts for the game, which starts at 7.45pm. Pastor Robinson is also set to run the Leeds Half Marathon for the charity next month.
