Coca-Cola Enterprises to invest millions in its Wakefield factory

Coca-Cola Enterprises has revealed it is to invest millions into its Wakefield factory - Europe’s largest soft drinks plant.

The investment is part of a £52M cash injection the Coca-Cola bottler has pledged for its UK operations in 2014.

At Wakefield, a combined heat and power system, which will save 1,500 tonnes of CO2 a year will be installed alongside a new production line dedicated to making the contour Coca-Cola bottle in larger PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packaging, including 1.25 litre and 1.75 litre formats.
