CHURCH IN WEST BRETTON: This Sunday, Reader Gillian Cunliffe will be preacher for morning worship at 10.30am.

TREASURE HUNT: Last Saturday evening there was a walk and talk treasure hunt in the village, won by Jane Wolford and her mum. The next walk and talk will be on Sunday, August 28.

OVER 50S CLUB: Members of Bretton Over 50s Club travelled to Cleethorpes last Wednesday for their July outing. Everyone had an interesting day and raffle prize winners were Sylvia Sunderland and Molly Fowler. Next Wednesday there is an outing to Beverley.

SINGING FOR PLEASURE: The group who meet to Sing for Pleasure in church had a meeting last Monday night and they sang some new songs from shows. Peter Bowers played the piano.

COMPLINE: There will be a short service of compline in church next Monday night at 7pm.

BOWLS LEARNING SESSIONS: After a short break, the sessions for new bowlers wishing to learn how to play on Fridays resumes next Friday, August 12 at 7pm.

CRIGGLESTONE ALL BLACKS: Crigglestone All Black Raiders U16s is currently recruiting players to bolster the team for the forthcoming season. Training is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings  from 6.15pm to 8pm at South View Playing Fields, Painthorpe Lane, Crigglestone. COMMUNITY LEARNING CENTRE: Kettlethorpe High School Community Learning Centre is offering employment skills sessions. This is a free drop-in service open to all adults every Monday from 1pm to 4pm. Don’t forget the free Internet Cafe, oen during the day and into the evening, with staff available to assist. It is participating in the BBC First Click Campaign.
