MOTHERS: Will members bring along either a savoury or sweet dish, cutlery and a glass on Thursday, September 15 for Crofton Mothers’ Club. Venue is the community centre at 8pm.

NOSTELL: Nostell MWFC’s first team is at home tomorrow against Pickering Town, meet at 1.15pm for a 3pm kick off. The second team is away against Old Modernians, meet at 12.30pm for a 2.30pm kick off. The third team entertain White Hart tomorrow, meet at 1pm for a 2.30pm kick off. On Sunday, September 11 Nostell Ladies are away to Rothwell Ladies, meet at 11.30am for a 1pm kick off. On Sunday, September 11 Wakefield City Ladies’ FC entertain Huddersfield Town Ladies at home kicking off at 2pm. On Wednesday, September 14 Nostell’s U19 side are away to Brodsworth Welfare, meet at 5.45pm for a 7.45pm kick off. On Thursday, September 15 Wakefield Ladies FC are at home to Bradford Ladies kicking off at 7.30pm.

ANGLING: The next match for members of Nostell MW Angling Club is on Sunday, September 11 at Carlton on the River Trent.

LEE RICHARDS: Last weekend Lee took part in his very first triathlon in the Lake District when he completed the Helvellyn Triathlon in five hours 38 minutes. COUGARS: Crofton Cougars ARLFC starts its new season tomorrow with a home league fixture against Wakefield City, kicking off at 2.30pm.

BIKE RIDE: Former Crofton and Sharlston GP Dr Alan Leading raised £1,222 from his recent Great Yorkshire Bike Ride.

SPORTS: Crofton Sports AFC begins its new season tomorrow with an away game for the first team against Woodman FC, the reserves are at home to Crown Alverthorpe FC, all meet at the Weavers Green at 1pm.

FLORISTRY COURSE: A ten-week course teaching the basics of the art of floristry begins at Crofton Academy this month. Classes are on Wednesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm, for further details contact Pat on 01924 303940.

KEEP FIT: A 12-week course open to adults of any age begins at Crofton Parish Church on Wednesday, September 14 from 7pm to 8pm. The course includes exercise and relaxation ending with a Bible reading. Take along a mat or towel.
