MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING: A recent coffee morning held at Stoney Garth in Hall Green raised £500 for Macmillan.

COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION MEETING: The next meeting of Hall Green Community Association management committee will be on Monday, September 12 at 7pm in Hall Green Community Centre.   

KETTLETHORPE PLAYGROUP: Kettlethorpe playgroup is taking children for September start and reopened this week. The playgroup is open five mornings a week at Kettlethorpe Community Centre on Standbridge Lane from 9am to 10.55am. The group accepts children from the age of two and costs per session £3.20, per child. For more information call in any morning or call 07764 190270 or 07834 898467. There are some places for immediate start, but places are limited.   

AUTUMN FAIR: An autumn fair will take place on Sunday, September 11 at St John’s Church Hall at Calder Grove at 2pm. There will be stalls including tombola, bric-a-brac, cakes and books. Refreshments will be served. Admission £1.

FUN QUIZ AND BINGO NIGHT: Hall Green Community Association is holding a fun quiz and bingo night at Hall Green Community Centre on Wednesday, September 14 at 6.30pm. Entrance is £1 which includes tea and coffee. Maximum team of four. There will be a pea and pie supper available during the interval to ticket holders only. Tickets are £2 and are available from committee members or call 01924 251544 before Monday, September 12.

KETTLETHORPE TENANTS’ AND RESIDENTS’: The next meeting of Kettlethorpe Tenants’ and Residents’ Association will take place on Wednesday, September 14 at 6.30pm in the back room of the Community Centre on Standbridge Lane.

COMMUNITY DAY: There is to be a community day on Saturday, September 17 at Hall Green Community Centre between 11am and 3pm. There will be a mobile disco with City Limits youth project, Wakefield and District Housing will be there. Neighbourhood Police, Wakefield Rural Arthritis Care, Time for Us toddler group. Reflections Majorettes is performing. There will be face painting, finger painting and lots of other free activities for children of all ages, stalls and games. Hot and cold food. There is a fancy dress competition with a story book theme. If you are interested in a youth group for the area for 11-16 year olds, or a junior youth club for younger children, go along and give your support.

TIME FOR US: Time for Us, the stay and play group at Hall Green Community Centre starts again on Tuesday between 9.15am and 11.15am. All parents/carers and their babies and toddlers are welcome to go along and meet friends old and new. Many activities for all ages and refreshments available.
