LINDALE METHODISTS: There will be a coffee morning at Lindale Methodist Church tomorrow between 10am and 11.30am. The morning service at 10.30am on Sunday will be led by Joyce Hampshire and will take the form of all-age worship. The Rev Tony Jones will lead the evening service at 6pm and will include communion. The Study Programme looking at major aspects of Paul’s life, teaching and mission will continue on Wednesday at 7.30pm. The Rock Club will meet on Thursday at 3.45pm and is for children between five and 11 years.

FLANSHAW URC: There will be a pie and peas supper at Flanshaw United Reformed Church this evening at 6.30pm and this will be followed by table games. Tickets are £4 and further information can be obtained by contacting 01924 364194. On Sunday the service at 10.45am will be led by Mr John Wadsworth and will include a baptism. On Monday there will be a service at Flanshaw Lodge at 2.30pm to be led by the Rev Gerry Sykes. The Wednesday Group will neet between 10.30am and 12noon and next Thursday there will be a prayer meeting at 11am. All welcome to these events.

KIRKHAMGATE COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION: There will be a coffee morning at Kirkhamgate village hall on Wednesday, November 9 at 10am. If you want any help with the internet or learn how to ‘skype’ your relatives and friends, the Association is taking part in the BBC Give an Hour campaign. SENIOR CITIZENS CHRISTMAS PARTY: Kirkhamgate Scarecrow Festival is funding and hosting a Christmas Party for Senior Citizens resident in Kirkhamgate. The party will be held in Kirkhamgate village hall on Saturday, December 10 between 2.30pm and 5.30pm and will include refreshments and entertainment. AUTUMN FAIR: Colin Barnaby Court in Alverthorpe is holding an Autumn Fair this afternoon at 2pm. Stalls will include cakes, white elephant, tombola and raffle. Admission is 50p, which includes refreshments, and all are welcome.

COMPUTER COURSE: A free Basic Computer Course is being held at Balne Lane Community Centre starting next Wednesday, November 9 between 10am and 12noon. For further information please contact 01924 373558.

FLANSHAW FIRST TENANTS: The next meeting of the Flanshaw First Tenants and Residents Association will take place on Tuesday, November 8 at 7pm at The Accent Housing Complex, Hunt Court, Flanshaw Lane. All welcome to attend.

HOSPICE: The annual Christmas Concert of the Hospice’s local fund raising group will take place at St Paul’s Church on Saturday, December 3 at 7pm and tickets are now available from the Cross Street shop, the Hospice reception or by contacting 01924 364868.  Prices are £6 (adults) and £2 (children between five and 15 years). Presenting the concert will be Wakefield Metropolitan Band and St Paul’s School Choir.
