LINDALE METHODISTS: The morning service at Lindale Methodist Church on Sunday will be led by Joyce Hampshire and will take the form of all-age worship. The evening service will be led by Rev Tony Jones and Rev Ruth Harris and will be the annual covenant service with friends from St Anne’s Church, Wrenthorpe, sharing with Lindale members. There will be a service on Monday at 6pm in connection with Prayers for Unity. The Rock Club will meet next Thursday at 3.45pm followed by the Thursday Club at 7pm.

KIRKHAMGATE WI: The next meeting of the Kirkhamgate WI will take place on Tuesday, January 17 at Lindale Methodist Church at 7.30pm. The speaker is Alan Pugh and the topic is living and dying in a Victorian city, followed by refreshments and a chat.

ST PAUL’S CHURCH: This Sunday the service will be at 11am and will be led by Rev Gerry Sykes and Rev Meuryn Walker. The emergency repair to the roof, which involved sticking down the felt instead of temporarily holding it down with strips of timber, was fortunately completed before the recent gale force winds and a security system has also been fitted. Funky Faith, which attracted up to 25 children before Christmas, is meeting again each Monday after school.

FLANSHAW URC: On Sunday the service at 10.45am will be led by moderator Rev Kevin Watson. The Wednesday Group will meet on January 18 between 10.30am and noon. There will be a prayer meeting next Thursday at 11am.

WESTGATE WOLVES: The amateur rugby league club is trying to form an U9s and U13s team. The club is on the look-out for any youngster interested in playing amateur rugby league and both these age groups will be coached by qualified rugby league coaches.
