SPORTS: Fixtures for Crofton Sports AFC are as follows. There is no game tomorrow for the first team and the second team are away to Brookhouse WMC, meet at the Weavers Green at 12.30pm for a 2pm kick off. The match ball sponsors are J.H. Lawnmower Services.

COUGARS: Crofton Cougars ARLFC have an away league match tomorrow when they play Whitkirk, kick off 2pm.

NOSTELL: Tomorrow Nostell MWFC’s first team are at home to Retford United, meet at 1.30pm for a 3pm kick off. The second team are away tomorrow to Hunslet Club meet at noon for a 2pm kick off. The third team are at home tomorrow when they play Wrenthorpe, meet at 12.30pm for a 2pm kick off. On Sunday Wakefield FC Ladies have a home game at Nostell against Stockport Ladies, kicking off at 2pm.

RUNNING REPORT: On an early morning run last week David was stopped by a young man in a car asking him if he was a Burnley FC supporter. David confirmed this then realised that a former Burnley player was driving the car. The ex-claret than produced a Burnley shirt for David’s use. To say David was elated was to put it mildly, and he cannot wait to wear the shirt whilst out training.

RE-UNION: There will be a re-union with a difference tonight when a bus will leave the Royal Oak in Crofton at 7.15pm bound for a tour of various pubs around Leeds. BAND: Crofton Silver Band now have a new Musical Director Kevin Belcher from our village. Kevin is now looking forward to many events before Christmas which include a charity fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer at Hob House Farm at South Kirkby on Sunday, followed by the Crofton Christmas Light switch on which takes place on Monday, November 29 at 7pm near the Millennium Stone (across from the chemist). Everyone welcome.

CROFTON ART GROUP: Thanks to everyone who supported the sale and exhibition, which proved to be the best since the group was formed five years ago. All raffle prizes have now been claimed.

CROFTON JUNIORS: Are celebrating an event today for Children In Need. Pupils and staff are asked to wear non uniform with preference to something “spotty”.

CROFTON WMC: Top class young vocalist Daniel Nichol will be appearing at Crofton WMC tomorrow evening.

COMPETITION: Photography competition finishes on Sunday at 3.30pm at the Waterton Discovery Centre, cast your vote for the winner.

GARDEN WASTE: The last collection for this year for Wednesday households will be on Wednesday, November 30.
