PARISH TRIP: A thirty strong group from the congregations of St Peter and Leonard’s Church with St John’s spent a wonderful day at York Minster last Saturday to celebrate the 950th anniversary of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. The day commenced with the procession of the Image of Our Lady into the Minster followed by mass celebrated by the Bishop of Whitby. The administrator of the shrine in Norfolk, Bishop Lindsey Urwin, preached the sermon. This was followed by a service of healing which included the sprinkling of water from the well in Walsingham, anointing and laying on of hands. All who attended thoroughly enjoyed the day.

ANTIQUES: If you have any genuine antiques and collectables you may be interested in taking a stall at a fair at St John’s Church on Saturday, October 1 from 10am to 4pm. The cost is £20 and if you would like more information, please call Pauline on 01924 280351.
