JUNIOR YOUTH CLUB: Hall Green Junior Youth Club opens tonight at 5.30pm-7pm, then every Friday evening at Hall Green Community Centre. For children aged six to 11. There will be many different activities each week and a tuck shop. Registration £2 per term £1.50 per session, plus tuck shop money ,first session free on registration.

FUNDRAISING CONCERT: Sandal and Calder Grove and Durkar fundraisers for Wakefield Hospice are presenting an evening of light music by the Wakefield Gilbert & Sullivan Society. The concert includes songs from popular musicals and is at St Helen’s Church, Barnsley Road, Sandal, tonight at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 which includes tea/coffee and biscuits.  

NEARLY NEW SALE: Wakefield NCT is holding a sale of baby and children’s clothes, toys and equipment at bargain prices on Saturday, October 15 at 10am, at Kettlethorpe High School, Standbridge Lane. Entrance £1 per adult (in aid of NCT charity). For more details contact 08442 436309.

TOY AND BOOK SALE: There will be a surplus equipment sale including toys and books for children under five on Tuesday, October 18 from 9.30am at Hall Green Community Centre, Painthorpe Lane. It is making space for new youth club equipment and all money will go to youth club funds.

KETTLETHORPE TENANTS’ AND RESIDENTS’: The date and time of the next meeting is Wednesday, October 19 at 6.30pm in Kettlethorpe Community Centre. 

SCENTSY EVENING: Hall Green Community Association hosts a Scentsy demonstration and sale on Wednesday, October 19 from 6.30pm. Sentsy candle warmers are a new innovation from from America, a wickless, plug-in candle that melts its own perfumed wax bars. There is a large range of burners and perfumed bars. BUS SERVICE CUTS: At the October meeting of Crigglestone Parish Council, members were informed that Metro proposed to withdraw the 443 bus service to Woolley in the evening and on Sundays. It was agreed to object to this proposal.

ANNUAL DINNER DANCE AND AUCTION: Reconnect is having its annual dinner, dance and auction Evening held at Holiday Inn, Ossett, on Friday, October 28. Doors open at 7pm till late. In addition to the three-course meal, there will be live entertainment and a fun charity auction with prizes including accommodation at Holiday Inns.
