OSSETT COMMUNITY CENTRE: Presents a Concert for Christmas with St Raphael’s Singers and harpist Jacob Nicholls tomorrow at 7pm. Tickets £6 – including mulled wine and light refreshments – available from the centre 01942 274838 or Cynthia 01924 261046.

TRINITY CHURCH: Tomorrow at 3pm, Three4AllChristingle, family worship in the church. Sunday, December 18, 10am communion with Kids’ Club (age four-11) and creche (up to four). The Bishop of Wakefield will lead worship; 6pm carols by candlelight in the church. On Tuesday, December 20 and Friday, December 23 at noon, members of the congregation will join people from other Ossett churches to lead carol singing near Ossett Town Hall steps.

THE KING’S WAY CHURCH: Church members will distribute free mince pies wrapped in a Christmas serviette in Ossett market place this morning, Friday December 16. If you have a special reason for prayer, pass a note to the distributors. The recent concert performed by The King’s Way Singers raised £299 for Wakefield Sight Aid. The church is open for prayer and meditation every Tuesday from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Both services on Sunday, December 18 at 10.30am and 4pm will be conducted by the Rev Mike Jones. The 4pm service will be a celebration of Christmas with carols.

OSSETT CRICKET CLUB: Holds a Christmas Eve party with games and disco 5pm to 9pm, children welcome with an adult, admission is free. New Year’s Eve party with games and raffle music by DJs Paul and Barry, admission is by ticket only at a cost of £6, (no concessions) £5 refundable on the night, this will be entered into the free raffle.

LITTLE RASCALS: Little Rascals is for children under school age and their parents and carers, held every Wednesday during term-time at Christ Church Parish Centre, from 9.30am to 11am.  However, if you are dropping older children off at school at 9am, then come along then.  There are lots of suitable toys in the main hall and a quiet room where little ones can play with the garage and train track and also do a craft to take home. For more information contact 263311.

OLD OSSETT 2012 CALENDAR: Ossett Rotary Club has launched its calendar for 2012 to raise funds for the club’s nominated charities. The calendar features photographs of old Ossett with reproductions of images of the town and the surrounding district going back to the early 1900s. The calendar is printed on high quality gloss paper and has a page and photograph for each month. It is supplied with a card envelope, suitable for mailing. The calendar, priced at £5, is now available from Ossett Newsagents in the Market Place, C&J Armitage in the Wellgate Centre and from June Drysdale on 07885 269754.
