OUTWOOD CHURCH AUCTION THANKS: Last month’s charity auction and brunch kitchen in aid of church funds raised £865. Many thanks to all who helped.  The income will help reduce the projected deficit, but it still looks like there will be about a £5,000 shortfall.

LEST WE FORGET: The Outwood memorial to those who died in the First and Second World Wars is situated inside the Parish Church. The usual prayers will be offered there during the parish mass on and a new poppy wreath put in place.  Don’t forget your poppy! 

WIVES’ GROUP: The Wives’ Group will be meeting on Wednesday, November 16 at 8pm, in the Church Institute for Customs and Excise.

LUNCH CLUB: The Pensioners’ Lunch Club will be held on Wednesday, November 16 in the Church Institute.  If you would like to join, or volunteer to help, please contact the church wardens on either 01924 825524 or 01924 822694.

OUTWOOD PARISH CHURCH: The Outwood Church autumn fair will be held on Saturday, November 19 from 11am. If you have any items available for the bric-a-brac stall, or any of the other stalls please contact the church wardens 01924 825524 or 01924 822694.

OUTWOOD PARISH CHURCH SERVICE DAYS AND TIMES: Today eucharist noon. Tomorrow eucharist 8am. Sunday morning prayer and eucharist 8am, parish mass 10am all  family welcome, tea and coffee afterwards, evening prayer 6.30pm, baptism preparation 7pm. Tuesday eucharist noon. Wednesday eucharist 9.30am.

PARKSIDE METHODIST CHURCH SERVICES:  Services on Sunday will be led by Rev Naomi Kaiga at 10.30am and by Rev Richard Oldroyd at 6pm.

CHRISTMAS FAIR: Hedgehugs will be having a fundraising stall at the library Christmas fair tomorrow 10am-noon.

YO HO HO: Calling all charities, church groups, sporting clubs and school within the Outwood or Newton Hill area: you can apply for a free stall at the Yo Ho Ho event that is being organised by local councillors. The event is being held Tuesday, November 29 from 5pm for around two-and-a-half hours, with Santa in attendance. You will be able to fundraise and also raise local public awareness of your group. If you can come up with original ideas of fund raising all the better.
