PARISH COUNCIL NEWS: It seems that the Cow Lane bridge closure to buses will be going ahead and new bus routes are being planned for the villages of New Sharlston and Streethouse. The newly planned bus routes have not taken any of our requests and concerns into consideration at all. There will not be any direct route to take buses from New Sharlston and Streethouse up to Sharlston where all the village amenities are. Furthermore, it has now been decided that the waste refuse lorries can no longer use the bridge to access any of the Sharlston residences, since their weight is over the limit. This means re-routing of the service. There are no further details of this as yet but we will keep you informed. The search for funding for a new seat in Sharlston Cemetery is continuing and showing promise. We have the Sharlston Keep Fit group to thank for their help on this one, since parish councils cannot apply for funding. Apparently one of the seats that was removed has now been returned. The seat is in a much better condition since it has been repaired and tidied. We shall still go ahead with replacing the other seat
