PACT MEETING: The next PACT meeting will be held at Valley Crescent Centre on September 21 at 7pm.

WRENTHORPE METHODIST CHURCH: On Sunday at 10am, the preacher is Rev Andrew Stead and at 6pm, you can enjoy tea, coffee and cakes at chat room. 

WRENTHORPE MISSION: On Sunday, September 18 Wrenthorpe Mission celebrates its 84th anniversary, with meetings at 10.30am and 6.30pm. Tuesday, September 20 at 7.30pm is Bible study. Mission One for five to 10-year-olds is from 3.30pm to 5pm on Wednesday, September 21 and prayer and praise is at 7.30pm on Thursday, September 22. 

ST ANNE’S: On Sunday the parish eucharist is at 10am and children’s church will meet in the church hall. A pet service will be held at 3pm on Sunday afternoon. Bring your pets along to the service. On Wednesday, communion is at 9.15am followed by refreshments and fellowship.

ART AND CRAFT EXHIBITION: If you have any art or craft items you wish to exhibit then bring them to St Anne’s Church Hall between 8.30am to 10.30am on Saturday, September 24. Do come and see the many and varied arts and crafts, demonstrations, and some opportunities to have a go. Open to the public from 11am to 4pm. Free admission. Refreshments including bacon butties available.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Re-Connect is an independent Registered Charity working with older people in Wakefield area. It is looking for volunteer drivers to mini-buses all the training given. For more information please contact Re-Connect on 01924 274400.

WRENS TREASURE HUNT: Wrenthorpe Environmental Society’s annual walk and treasure hunt starts at Wrenthorpe Village Hall on Sunday, September 18. Teams of four will set off and, provided they don’t get lost, will finish at 4pm. Arrive from 2pm onwards to register and collect your papers.

YOUTH CLUB: Held at Valley Crescent Centre, the Youth Club has now reopened on Monday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. Boys and girls age 12 and above are welcome to come along and hang out.

CHARITY AUCTION: Will be held at Wrenthorpe Club, Friday, September 23 at 7.30pm, in memory of Taylor Sheldrake. Lots to bid on. All money raised will be donated to Candlelighters Children’s Cancer Charity in Yorkshire. If anyone or has got anything they would be willing to donate to be auctioned please contact me as soon as possible.

PSYCHIC MEDIUM: Thorpe Primary School PTA presents a psychic medium evening, Thursday, September 22 at 7.30pm. This event is being held at Thorpe Primary School, Dolphin Lane, Thorpe, and is open to the public.
