Competition: Sign up to Hospice 10K to win a running vest

Organisers Wakefield Hospice are giving you the chance to get kitted-out in style by signing up for the April 3 race at Clarence Park.

If you enter before the February 15 deadline you can win a specially designed running vest, which are also available to buy before the deadline.

This year all runners will receive a brand new Wakefield 10k technical T-shirt and a newly designed medal to show that they are a 2016 finisher.

Event fundraiser Holli Kellett said “The Wakefield 10k is a great day for Wakefield, with an amazing atmosphere and we urge everyone to come along, whether you are running or supporting. With the addition of the 1k Mini run you can make it a real family affair and entering the team challenge is great for companies and friends to have fun with the 10k together.

“The money raised from this event makes such a difference to the patients at Wakefield Hospice and their families and we hope that this year will raise enough to fund the entire hospice for a week.”

Last year was the events most successful year for runners and funds raised with more than 2,200 entries, raising over £55,000 for patient care at Wakefield Hospice.

But this year’s event is already set to be even bigger, with entries already exceeding this time last year by a quarter.

Miss Kellett added: “Wakefield Hospice want to do all we can to thank everyone for taking part in The 10k and the 1k mini run and we think the addition of the new technical T-shirt and medal is a great way for all runners to remember the event and show their friends and family what they have achieved. We can’t wait to see everyone crossing the finish line and showing off their medals.”

There will also be a medal for all mini runners. And each runner will also get a goody bag at the end of the race as an extra bonus.
