A book of congratulations has been opened by Wakefield Council for people wanting to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son.
It can be found in the reception area at Wakefield Town Hall and will be available to sign until Friday, July 2 and then it will be sent to the royal family.
Coun Peter Box, leader of Wakefield Council, who joined the Mayor in being the first to sign the book said: “Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their first son. This book gives the people of Wakefield the chance to send their good wishes direct to the royal couple.”
The Mayor of Wakefield, Coun Brian Holmes, said: “I’m proud to sign this book and hope many people will come and take the opportunity to add their congratulations to the messages the Duke and Duchess are receiving from all around the world.”
The future King was born on Monday, July 22 at 4.24pm.
The Town Hall is open Monday to Thursday from 8am to 9pm and Friday from 8am until 6pm.
