Wakefield Council’s planning and highways committee was due to decide this morning whether to accept or reject planning officers’ recommendation to give the go-ahead to the proposal for seven residential caravans, storage and maintenance of vehicles and equipment at the site on Newstead Lane.

But committee chairman Coun Alan Garbutt told the meeting the application had been deferred because of a lack of response from the Environment Agency.

The application will be considered by the committee at date still to be confirmed.
