CRIGGLESTONE CRICKET: This Saturday Crigglestone Cricket Club are away at Bradley & Colne CC with the second x1 at home to Higham CC, Both matches are in the Huddersfield Central Cricket League and start at 2pm. On Sunday Crigglestone are in the finals of the Huddersfield 20-20 Cup to played at Upperthong CC with a 10.30am start. Crigglestone have been drawn against Azad CC in the first semi-final.

CHURCH IN WEST BRETTON: Reader, Gillian Cunliffe, was Preacher for Morning Worship last Sunday. Hilary Sharp and Leonard Bartle read lessons. Lena Nichols was Sidesperson and Leonard Bartle was Steward. Organist was Peter Bowers. Church flowers were arranged by Judith Brearton. This Sunday at 10.30am there will be a service of Holy Communion at which Circuit Superintendent, Rev David Hall will preside and preach. COMPLINE: Last Monday night there was a service of Compline in Church conducted by Leonard Bartle. OVER 50s CLUB: Members of Bretton Over 50’s Club held their August Social Afternoon last Wednesday in the Village Hall. Raffle prizes were won by Val Briel and Eddie Naylor. The outing to Beverley was earlier this week. AFTERNOON GET TOGETHER: Next Wednesday is the date for the August Afternoon Get Together to be held in Church from 2pm to 4pm and an invitation is extended to anyone to come along for fun, fellowship and refreshment. Any photographs of old Bretton will be welcomed. BOWLS SESSIONS FOR LEARNERS: After a short break due to holidays the Friday bowls sessions for learners will resume tonight at 7.00pm at the bowling green at West Bretton
