Appeal for information after arson attack in Castleford

A garden was set on fire in a suspected arson attack in Castleford.

Police are appealing for information on the fire, which is believed to be an arson attack.

Officers were called at 5.10am on Wednesday, May 27 to reports that a garden had been attacked with fire on Queen's Park Drive, Airedale, close to Carlyle Crescent.

The fire spread to a greenhouse and hedges within the garden, police said.

Anyone with any information on the incident, or with CCTV footage that may have captured a suspect or potential suspect is asked ton contact West Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 13200263290.

The full police statement reads: "This is an appeal for information in relation to an Arson attack.

"At approximately 05:10am 27/5/2020 a property's garden was attacked with fire on Queens Park Drive, Airedale - near to Carlyle Crescent. The fire has affected a greenhouse and the hedges within the property boundary.

"If you have any information regarding this incident or have CCTV that may have captured a suspect or potential suspect please contact us on 101 quoting reference 13200263290."
