Bungling would-be-thief dropped champagne he was trying to steal

A man dropped a case of champagne he was trying to steal from a wine warehouse.

He walked into the Majestic Wine Warehouse store and took a case of six bottles of Moet and Chandon champagne to the till.

After distracting a member of staff he tried to run out of the store but dropped the champagne on the floor before he left the store on Denby Dale Road, Wakefield.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place at around 6.40pm on Wednesday, March 11.

He was aged between 25 and 30 and of a heavy or stocky build.

He was wearing a black jacket over the top of a green coloured T-shirt, long green shorts and black and green trainers.
