Businesswoman attacked by vicious and violent robber

A robber carried out a vicious, violent attack on a businesswoman.

The attacker punched his 41-year-old victim in the face and knocked her to the ground before kicking her in the stomach.

He approached the woman who was carrying a large shoulder bag containing her day’s takings.

The incident took place on Briestfield Road, Grange Moor, at around 7.40pm on Thursday, close to where the victim owns a business.

The robber demanded the bag but she refused.

He then carried out the attack before running off with her bag.

The victim chased him along Steeple Avenue and towards Greenfield Crescent and Shuttle Eye Way before losing sight of him.

DC Andy Clayton of Huddersfield CID, said: “This was a particularly vicious attack with an unnecessary level of violence used.

“Thankfully the victim was OK but was left shaken as a result of the incident.”

Police said the robber is 6ft tall and of stocky build.

He was wearing a grey hoodie with a grey scarf covering his face.
