Detectives continue to hunt Eastmoor sex attacker

A woman was subjected to a serious sex attack in an alleyway.

Detectives are hunting for a man who was seen fleeing from the scene afterwards.

The 44-year-old victim was targeted as she walked along Stanley Road in Eastmoor at around 1.30am on Friday, February 7.

Det Chief Insp Nick Wallen, of Wakefield CID, said: “The victim was subjected to a serious sexual assault in the alleyway between the Albion Inn and Betfred.

“Police are keen trace a man seen running away from the scene. If anyone saw this man or has any other information that will help with our enquiries, please get in touch.”

The man was described as 5ft 9in tall, of slim build and was wearing a dark jacket.

The parade shops on Stanley Road was sealed off on Friday while forensic examinations of the scene were carried out.

A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail pending further enquiries.
