“The two girls, both from the local area, were understandably very upset by the incident. They did they right thing and phoned for help and we have been providing support to them and their family since the incident.”

Officers have been pursuing several lines of enquiry, including speaking to local residents and business owners.

After the incident, the victims spoke to a member of the public at the station, who detectives are also keen to get in touch with.

Det cons Wilson added: “Due to the girls’ age, this incident is very concerning for us and we are doing all we can to find the man responsible. BTP is absolutely committed to stamping out unwanted sexual behaviour from our transport network and we take all reports seriously.”
